Narberth Books

L-R Jan Newton Thorne Moore and me

"Well, the 2017 Narberth Book Fair is over and was a great success, says Judith Barrow, co-organiser with Thorne Moore.

Thanks to everyone who came, who looked, who listened and who bought. And thanks to the authors who made it what it was. And, of course, many thanks to the Queen's Hal for all the help and support we received to make this a memorable event.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Sleight, for organising the raffle in aid of The Harriet Davis Trust, as well as the children's competition, the book trail and all the press publicity. And, of course, Showboat TV who worked wonders as usual.

Winners of the competitions will be published shortly, along with the winning poems in the poetry competition.

A small intermission now, before the planning starts, all over again, for the 2018 Narberth Book Fair.

Author, Sara Gethin, whose debut book, Not Tomas, has been shortlisted for the Not the Booker Prize, said, “it was a wonderful day...the Queen's Hall was a great location for it, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Lots of happy authors and customers all day long! Looking forward to next year's Narberth Book Fair already!”

And, children’s author, Sharon Tregenza, agreed. “Fantastic day, full of fabulous people and book chat. What a crowd attended - I thought the poor Queen's Hall would burst at one point. Massive triumph for Judith Barrow and Thorne Moore.

Steve Thorpe, Pembrokeshire poet, writer and essayist wrote, “I just wanted to thank you for all the work you did in making yesterday such an enjoyable experience. The way you decked the Hall, did the programmes and all the advance publicity was great.”
