Static caravan holiday parks can be islands of tranquility outside of school holidays - and and this park is beautifully located, close to where the river join the sea at Rye Harbour, East Sussex.

In addition, the video takes a look at some of the fascinating place nearby to visit - the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux, the old Royal Observatory, makes a great outing . .

4 nights accommodation for a party of up to 6 people for under £100? A few years ago, we discovered that holiday park short breaks, in comfortable static holidays caravans, were surprisingly cheap, as long as you go outside school holidays, and avoid the weekends. Over the course of a year, we spent 4 or 5 Monday-to-Friday stays at parks on the east and south coasts, and we enjoyed all of them.

We used a company called Park Holidays, checking up on sites and booking via their website at www.parkholidays.com

You do need to take your own bed linen (duvet cover, sheet and pillow cases) and towels, but otherwise the caravans are well equipped, including heating and cooking equipment.
